Šebela Marek

Marek Šebela, prof., Mgr., Dr. (born 1971), graduated in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, where he also later completed his doctoral studies. Then he had several short-term research stays abroad (Germany, Denmark, France, Japan). In 2007, he became Full Professor in Biochemistry at Masaryk University and served as the Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, during 2006-2012. Currently, he is a Research Program Leader for Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. In general he focuses himself on chemistry and biochemistry of proteins. As a researcher, he is mainly interested in redox enzymes, protein modifications (namely glycosylations) and MALDI mass spectrometry in proteomics. In addition to his research, teaching and educational activities, he is an active member of three scientific societies and participates in organizing international scientific conferences such as Informal Meeting on Mass Spectrometry or Central and Eastern European Proteomics Conference. He received two national scientific awards. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Proteomics.

Lenobel René

René Lenobel, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1971), graduated in analytical chemistry from the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, where he also finished his Ph.D. degree. He completed several short-term research stays abroad (England, Germany, Belgium) and post-doctoral fellow with Dr. R. Körner (2 years) in the laboratory of Department of Cell Biology (prof. E. A. Nigg) at Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany (specialization in quantitative proteomics and phosphoproteomics). Currently, he is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc. His research is focused on affinity chromatography-based protein isolation using matrices with immobilized, biologically active compounds and identification and quantification of proteins and peptides using a nanocapillary liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry. In addition, he has also teaching and educational activities related to proteomics. He is a member of two scientific societies of mass spectrometry.

Kobrlová Iveta

Iveta Kobrlová (born 1975) graduated as chemist-operator in the pharmaceutical SOU in Olomouc. She currently works as vocational secretary in the department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics and at the Department of Biophysics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University.

Frömmel Jan

Jan Frömmel, Mgr., Ph.D., graduated in 2010 and obtained M.Sc. in biochemistry. The diploma theses was entitled Preparation of new synthetic aminoaldehyde dehydrogenase substrates. In the same year he started his postgraduate studies in biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc. The objects of his study are substrate specificity, inhibitions, chemical modifications and immobilization of plant aldehyde dehydrogenases leading to bioanalytical applications. He has been working part time as a research assistant since September 2010.

Chamrad Ivo

Ivo Chamrad, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1982), was appointed as a Junior Researcher at the Department of Protein Biochemistry and Proteomics, Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, in summer 2012. He obtained his M.Sc. in biochemistry at Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, in 2006. In the same year, he started his Ph.D. studies as a joint student of the Department of Biochemistry and Laboratory of Growth Regulators, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. In 2010, he spent 6 months in the laboratory of prof. Giulio Superti-Furga at the Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (CeMM), Vienna, working on chemical proteomics with kinase inhibitors in tumor biopsy samples. He defended his Ph.D. thesis Affinity chromatography in proteomics in early 2012. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in techniques of affinity proteomics. Currently, his research is focused on the identification of new cellular partners of phytohormones using diverse chemical proteomic approaches. Besides his research activities, Ivo Chamrad also gives lectures and guides practical courses in proteomics for students of molecular biology, biochemistry and experimental bilogy at Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc.

Končitíková Radka

Radka Končitíková, Mgr., graduated from Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc, in 2010 and obtained M.Sc. in biochemistry. The bachelor thesis entitled Characterization of cytokinin oxidase (CKO) – inhibition by derivatives of N-benzyl-N´-pyridyl urea and the diploma thesis entitled Purification and characterization of maize cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase mutants were completed in Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacký University. In September 2010, she began her postgraduate studies in biochemistry at the same department. The objective of her Ph.D. study involves reactions following cytokinin degradation by cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase including nucleoside ribohydrolases and especially family of aldehyde dehydrogenases from maize (Zea mays). She has been working part time as a research assistant since September 2010. In 2012, she had a research stay for 3 months at the Institut Jean-Pierre Bourgin in Versailles in France.

Kopečná Martina (born Tylichová)

Martina Kopečná, Mgr., Ph.D. (born Tylichová, 1981), graduated from Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc, in 2006 and obtained M.Sc. in biochemistry. During 2005, she spent 5 months at the INRA/INA-PG in Grignon (France) in the frame of ERASMUS/SOCRATES student exchange program. During 2006-2009 she was a postgraduate student. In June 2009 she defended her doctoral thesis Study of plant aminoaldehyde dehydrogenase. Allergenic properties of wheat prolamins and obtained Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Palacký University. She was a FEBS fellow at INRA-AgroParisTech in Grignon (France) for 3 months during 2008 and also a FEMS fellow at Universität Hamburg (Germany) for 3 months during 2010. She focuses on cloning, expression, site-directed mutagenesis and qPCR techniques. She has been working full time as a research assistant since January 2008. Since 2010 she is employed as Junior researcher at the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research in Olomouc.

Kopečný David

David Kopečný, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1977), graduated in analytical chemistry (diploma with honors) from the Faculty of Science, Palacký University (PřF UP), Olomouc, in 2003. During 2002, he spent 3 months at INRA/INA-PG in Grignon (France) in the frame of ERASMUS/SOCRATES student exchange program. During 2003-2006 he was a postgraduate student in the Laboratory of Cell Biology, INRA Versailles, France and the Department of Biochemistry, Palacký University. That time he was an EGIDE and Marie-Curie fellow. In October 2006, he defended his doctoral thesis with co-supervision (“cotutelle de thèse”) on Structure and function of cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase. Modifications of enzymes and obtained Ph.D. degree in biology from University Paris-Sud XI, Orsay and Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Palacký University. Since 2006 he has joined the staff of the Department of Biochemistry as a research assistant with the main interest in plant oxidoreductases and hydrolases related to cytokinin and polyamine metabolism. During 2009, he was a FEBS fellow at INRA-AgroParisTech in Grignon (France) for 3 months. His research is focused on preparation of recombinant proteins, crystallization, structure refinement, docking and site-directed mutagenesis. Since 2010 he is also employee of Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research in Olomouc.

Raus Martin

Martin Raus, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1982), graduated from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc. The bachelor thesis entitled Plug-in for visualization of grammars and automata and the diploma thesis entitled Web based game for many players. Since 2008 he has been postgraduate student at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc. His work was focused on the area of ​​bioinformatics and mass spectrometry. In September 2013, he defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled Software analysis and prediction in mass spectrometry. In 2012-2013 he had stay for 3 months in Technical University of Vienna. Currently he works in position of junior researcher in the department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. Due to his specific specialization, his task is bioinformatics, computation data analysis, development of specialized software and other support through IT.

Simerský Radim

Radim Simerský, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1979), graduated in Biology and Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. There, in the concrete in the Laboratory of Growth Regulators he completed his doctoral studies in 2009. Since then till 2010 he worked as a member of Phytosteroids research group in the LGR, Faculty of Science, Palacky University & Institute of Experimental Botany AS CR. Currently he works in position of junior researcher in the department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. His research activities focuse primarily on study of interactions of low-molecular phytosteroid compounds with intracellular proteins.

Uřinovská Jana (born Hujová)

Jana Uřinovská, Ing., Ph.D. (born Hujová), graduated in 2002 from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague, Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology, Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology and obtained M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering. Since 2002 she has been postgraduate student at Charles University in Prague, 1st Faculty of Medicine. During 2005-2008 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Inherited Metabolic Disorders in Prague with the main interests in inherited metabolic diseases especially lysosomal storage diseases (LSD), cell biology and pathology of HGSNAT, LSD modelling in C. elegans (RNA interference, transgenic GFP expression) and light microscopy application. She defended the Ph.D. on December 11, 2008 and from January 2009 obtained postdoc position at the Palacky University in Olomouc, Faculty of Science, Department of Biochemistry, Division of Molecular Biology. She was on maternity leave from December 2009 to April 2013. She obtained the position of Junior Researcher at the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research from May 2013 and now she is mainly interested in MALDI mass spectrometry in proteomics.

Ľuptáková Eva (born Hájková)

Eva Ľuptáková, Mgr. (born Hájková), graduated in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc in 2015. In her bachelor and diploma thesis she was focused on nucleoside hydrolases from maize (Zea mays) and moss (Physcomitrella patens). She completed short-term internship at the University of Hamburg during the master’s degree. In 2015, she began her postgraduate studies in biochemistry under the supervision of David Kopečný, which is focused on enzymes involved in metabolism of purines and cytokinins in maize and moss.

Perutka Zdeněk

Zdeněk Perutka, Mgr. graduated in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, in 2015. In his diploma thesis he devoted to identification of plants nuclear proteins using mass spectrometry. In 2015, he began his postgraduate studies in biochemistry at Department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University; the related Ph.D. thesis is focused on proteome analysis by nano LC-MALDI-TOF/TOF MS and MS/MS techniques.

Beinhauer Jana (born Chalupová)

Jana Beinhauer, Mgr. (born Chalupová) graduated from Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc in 2011 and obtained M.Sc. in biochemistry. The diploma thesis entitled Identification and biotyping of phytopathogens of cultivated plants using mass spectrometry was completed in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Palacký University, where she also started her postgraduate studies in Biochemistry. The objective of her Ph.D. study involves further investigations of plant pathogens by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and study of their biomarkers in detail. During 2010-2013 she had a short-term research stays at Technical University in Vienna, Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics, Austria, and in 2013 at Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Texas at Arlington. Since January 2012 she has been working part time as PhD student researcher at Department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacký University.

Danihlík Jiří

Jiří Danihlík, Mgr. (born 1986), graduated master studies from Biochemistry in Faculty of Science, Palacký University Olomouc in 2011. He has been working on his PhD since 2011. His research is focused on bee immunity especially antimicrobial peptides since his bachelor studies. He has been developing methods for detection and quantification bee antimicrobial peptides and studying differences in peptide level in bees. He spent one month long study visit in Uppsala, Sweden in Joachim de Miranda’s laboratory in 2012 and two month in Lund, Sweden in Alejandra Vásquez’s laboratory in 2013. He is a practical beekeeper and gives lectures and seminars for beekeepers about bee pathology in his free time. He is the Czech national coordinator for the COLOSS association in colony losses monitoring project.

Dyčka Filip

Filip Dyčka, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1981), graduated from the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, in 2007 and obtained M.Sc. in biophysiscs (the theme of bachelor and diploma thesis was electrochemical detection of oligonucleotides and their components on chemically modified graphite electrodes). He obtained Ph.D. degree in biophysics from Masaryk University in early 2012. His Ph.D. thesis entitled Identification and characterization of proteins regulated by plant hormones cytokinins by mass spectrometry was completed in the Department of Proteomics and Glycomics, Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i. in Brno where he also worked as a researcher from 2007 to 2012. At the present time, he is a junior researcher at the Department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. In 2013 he had short-term stay in Technical University of Vienna.

Loginov Dmitry

Loginov Dmitry, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1984), graduated in Biotechnology from the Faculty of Technology and Production Management, Moscow state university of food production, Russian Federation. In 2010, he received Ph.D. in Biochemistry at A.N. Bach Institute of biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, where he was working during 2006-2012 (as research associate from 2010). He had short-term research stay abroad (EMBL, Hamburg). At the present time, he is a junior researcher in the group of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University. His research interests mainly focused on metalloenzymes, proteomic assays of oomycetes and ascomycetes aiming at determining of protein markers for phytopathogenic fungi identifying. He has experience in microbiology, biochemistry, crystallography and proteomic assays. His publications covered both fundamental and biotechnology issues including investigation of recombinant proteins of industrial interest. Also he’s coauthor of one patent.

Franc Vojtěch

Vojtech Franc, Mgr., Ph.D. (born 1986), graduated in Biochemistry from the faculty the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc, in 2011. His diploma thesis was devoted to a research work on protein glycosylation using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry. Currently he is a Ph.D. student at Department of Biochemistry of Proteins and Proteomics at the Centre of the Region Hana for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Faculty of Science, Palacky University; the related Ph.D. thesis topic is entitled Analysis of posttranslational modifications of proteins using mass spectrometry. In 2011-2013 he had several short-term stays in Technical University of Vienna and in 2013 he spent 6 months in University of Alabama at Birmingham (USA).
